About Me

My love of writing led me into a 20-year career in public relations. I held my most recent position in the Sutter Health Strategic Marketing and Communications Department for 16 years. There I promoted the organization internally and externally. Using my writing skills I created memos for administration, wrote press releases, patient stories, newsletters, announcements, video scripts and speeches for internal and external audiences.

Prior to working at Sutter Health, I held the position of account executive for MMC Communications, a Sacramento public relations firm, where I promoted clients by creating news releases and feature stories and placing them in local, regional and national publications.

Preceding MMC Communications I held the position of editor for the Carmichael News, a publication of Valley Community Newspapers. I developed the editorial calendar, assigned and edited articles as well as generated editorial content for the Carmichael News, preparing feature stories, articles and briefs.

Earlier on in my career I worked as a stringer and wrote articles for Citrus Heights Bulletin, Orangevale News, Roseville Press Tribune and Sacramento Bee Neighbors. Also in those early years I worked as a freelance writer and was published in a variety of magazines including Entrepreneur, Small Business Opportunities, Income Opportunities, Sacramento Magazine, Woman’s World, Woman’s Circle and  Guideposts.

Writing is still my first love and I hope to again pursue freelance writing work. This portfolio shows my most recent work, developed and written during my time at Sutter Health. As you will see, the emphasis in the articles is health-related.
